ABOUT DEBRA
Debra succeeds in performing and teaching at a professional level. She has extensive experience and is in great demand. Her GCSE, AS, A Level and Music Theory Courses attract some of the UK’s most talented young musicians, many of whom attend the Junior Departments at the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music, London. An ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED is testament to the rewarding learning experience she provides.
Debra has been one of the course tutors at the yearly Dillington Classical Guitar Summer School since 2017. She has appeared as both a soloist and chamber musician at a number of Festivals in Norway and the UK, including the Guitar Festival of Great Britain at West Dean College and the Cannington International Festival. Other high profile performances include a concert for King Harald of Norway together with her late husband, Arne Brattland.
Debra has a Master’s Degree in Music, Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Qualified Teacher Status), an Honours Degree in Music and other performing and teaching diplomas. She is an Associated Board Music Examiner (Theory), an Edexcel GCSE Music Examiner and approved tutor and assessor of A level and GCSE Music for a private examination centre in Hampshire (Faregos).
