Nuages by Debussy (1)

This resource was made to support the new Eduqas GCE A level specification, first exam June 2018. The resource consists of three parts: a recording, student question paper and a marking scheme. Students will require a blank score (NB allowed in the exam).

The final 5 marker question is related to the movement’s structure and tonality. The mark scheme is detailed providing an overview of Debussy’s use of these two elements. i.e. ‘This work illustrated Debussy’s desire to break away from both the standard harmonies and rigid formal types of earlier music. Outline any interesting or unusual features in this movement’s structure and tonality’.
