Trio for piano oboe and bassoon by Poulenc

This resource was made to support the new Eduqas GCE A level specification, first exam June 2018. The resource consists of three parts: a recording, student question paper and a marking scheme. Students will require a blank score (NB allowed in the exam).

The final 5 marker question is related to the movement’s use of harmony and the mark scheme is very detailed providing an overview of Poulenc’s use of this element. i.e. ‘The critic Clarendon called Poulenc“the best harmonist of his generation”. Outline any interesting or unusual features in this movement’s harmony.
